I Google searched, the author is Rose Milligan and it was first published in 1998.

    Oh how I wish I could forget dusting(and all other housework) to go have fun.. BUT I learned the hard way that bad things happen when you play hookie from your responsibilities too long! Thanks for sharing this here. I have not seen it on Facebook yet.
